Obama is a mulatto.

He is being referred to as a member of the black rase. But his father is black and his mother white. So, he is de facto as much black as he is white. Why is he then not referred to as a white president-elect?
Why is he not referred to as a mulatto president-elect, which he is?

It this not politically correct? If you find that the word is pejorative, offensive, demeaning or at best old-fashioned, biracial is also a term we can use to describe his race. But he certainly is not black.
